The Bloc is a vibrant, open-air urban center, a growing, inclusive community, a LEED™ certiﬁed Gold project, an inﬂection point in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Encompassing a full city block along LA’s iconic 7th Street corridor, The Bloc connects the ﬁnancial, fashion, jewelry, and theater districts – and the 7th Street Metro Center Station, where four DTLA lines converge.

Video Vortex is located inside Alamo Drafthouse presents you with over 40,000 Blu-rays and DVDs that will enlighten, entertain, enrage, and/or engage your brain in ways you never knew were possible. Additionally, the store features a fearlessly curated assortment of vinyl, board games, clothing, and more from their sister company Mondo and a special collaboration with LA’s legendary VIDIOTS, including a merch pop-up and special programming and curation. Beyond THAT, Video Vortex isn't just a video store. Video Vortex features a collection of board games available for play in the space, a curated selection of vintage arcade games and will also feature board game launch events and tournaments. We’ll have other live spectacles too, such as our weekly TRIVIADOME event.

We offer our customers not only the finest quality, but also certified, sustainable and responsibly made products. Our gelatos are made using time-honored, artisan techniques and feature pure cane sugar, ripe seasonal fruits and fresh pasteurized Real California dairy, free of growth hormones and sourced using the highest standards of animal care and environmental stewardship.

Café Balzac is inspired by Honoré de Balzac, a French writer who was known to have 46 espressos a day! At Café Balzac we offer fresh gourmet coffee and espresso drinks, sweet and savory crêpes and curated pastries. We are a little slice of France in the heart of DTLA!
