About the Artists:

Allie Shehorn

Growing up in Bakersfield, Allie began creating art at a very young age, and hasn’t slowed down since. She is humbled and proud to be a national award-winning artist in numerous mediums. Those including, but not limited to, painting, chalk artistry, sculpting, and in recent years, has begun making a name for herself in the world of film and television doing special effects and beauty makeup. Her hard work and accomplishments in the film industry eventually earned her a membership into the local 706 IATSE union.

Although her day-to-day work tends to gravitate towards being a union makeup artist, she loves any opportunity to create art for others, and appreciates the joy that it brings to people’s hearts. Allie recently created award winning chalk art for the Pasadena Chalk Festival, and painted influential murals for a local school, in conjunction with the Light Bringer Project. She looks forward to creating the upcoming murals celebrating Earth Day at The Bloc, in hopes that it brings attention to the importance of preserving and loving our Earth, and inspires those who experience her unique vision through art.

Jen Swain

Live painter and designer Jen Swain created this window painting, Spring Sunrise, Nature's Beauty, to bring the elements of the earth to life, through use of bright colors and design. Our land brings us such unique lifeforms and with that harmony and peace and a story which each person can imagine and resonate with. Swain studied art at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design and her work consists of Live Painting at events, Illustration, Fine Art, Chalk Art, City Murals, Electrical Box Art and Design.
